Circus Skunk

We're trying to teach him to balance a ball on his nose, but he just ends up eating it. (Yes, those are worms you see dangling above his nose. We're pretty sure he would recite Shakespeare to get the worms if we asked him to.)

Damn You Darwin!

Now if we could only get him to lift the lid and flush.

Just One of the Reasons We Need a House

Because Sundays are supposed to be quiet, peaceful and relaxing. And once I can exile him to the garage, perhaps they will be again.

Making it Fit

Hades cannot resist a good box. We've tried to tell him he could fit into even more boxes if he would lose some weight, but he seems undeterred.

Recovering

This is Styx right after she had the scary tumors removed. If you look closely, you can see the blue stitches above her right back leg. Didn't affect her appetite in the least.

Dynamic Duo

Every once in a while I catch them fighting about who is truly the alpha male of the house, but more often than not it is cute moments like this.

Rare Art Form

We took our first cruise in May. This was the best part. Seriously.

Insert Creepy Horror Movie Music Here

That rat lasted about 30 more seconds.

Some People Might Think This is Gross

My husband thinks its hot, and he always wins

And He's Still Alive

This is Loki eating dinner, and while he wasn't paying attention, Azrael sneaking in and stealing his tuna fish. Frankly, I'm surprised Azrael still has two eyes and a tail.

The Lazy Blogger

A year ago I started The Pickle Tree in an attempt to break into the blog world as a fresh new blogging superpower who would be able to quit her day job due to the amount of daily hits to her witty posts. Ultimately, I ended up only amusing my friends and family, and not at all accomplishing my original goal: world domination through blogging.

So I let it go. Since then I have been itching to get back into the blog-o-sphere, but what to do? Being brilliant on a daily basis is exhausting.

So, after many started and abandoned blogs, I’m trying again in a much simpler fashion. The style of this blog will emulate (I like that word - it’s a nice euphemism for stealing someone else’s idea) my friend Wendy’s blog, EMM and M. I get such a kick out of the pictures Wendy posts; they bring quick smiles to my day without having to read too much. I also greatly enjoy Heather Armstrong’s blog, Dooce.com, and my favorite posts are the ones with hilarious or sweet pictures and their amusing or touching descriptions.

So here I go, emulating Wendy and Heather. (Yes, I’m sticking with emulating.) Of course, I will occasionally be tempted to add random attempts to be witty, charming and entertaining. (Or ridiculously boring, when I decide I need to use this blog as my own personal journal.) And I will do this on no set schedule. It will be whenever I damn well feel like it. Screw your requests. So there.

Let the blogging begin!
